I like to read...a lot! Some writers I like:
Robert Anson Heinlein
BOOKS! I used to read alot of books myself and somewhere along the line lost the ability to concentrate enough to get through a book. I read more online these days, mainly the news, as I watch little t.v. Part of my "reading problem" is my need for reading glasses. The ones I have are 3-4 years old and have bifocals, which I find almost impossible to use. I am sure once I get just a regular script for reading glasses, I'll be back on the road to reading more books than I do now.
What I would REALLY love to have is an updated set of encyclopedias to read! I know that may sound strange, but I do enjoy reading the articles in encyclopedias....always have. As for favorite authors, I am too out of touch to list any at this time.
But yes, a BIG HOORAH for reading books!
We are huge book readers as well. We love to talk about the shared books we read too.
Some of my fave modern authors include:
Stephen R. Donaldson
Some of the old timers I like:
Alice B. Emerson (Her Ruth Fielding series, early 1900`s)
Tolkien (Lord of the Rings)
C.S. Lewis (Narnia)
Louis L`Amour (The Sacketts etc)
Lucy Maud Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables)
And although not modern, not really old either... Earl Hamner jr. (Spencer`s Mountain... later known as the Walton`s)
I have a list of essential classics sort of thing, I am working my way through them. I hope to expand my mind a bit. I am midway through 'The Return of Sherlock Holmes' at the moment, I have downloaded many of the classics on the list for free on Kindle so it doesn't cost anything either. :)
Oh! I do that too! I have Kobo and Microsoft reader on my laptop, and one awesome audio book website.
www.booksshouldbefree. com (minus the space).
I have several websites with children's audio books too.
Wow, cool, I could never get into audio though, my mind just never takes it in ;)
We all have tablets with Kindle software on them, but you also install the Kindle software on most Android phones as well. We have it on our phones too, so we can read and have books with us any where.
